John Zubchenok
is a lighting designer/consultant and president of Firefly Lighting.
He was born in Queens, New York. At age seventeen he ventured
across the United States
in a Classic 1954 Chevrolet Step Side. His adventure brought him
to the Southwest where
he became captivated by the environment, and chose to make Santa Fe,
New Mexico his home.
In the early 1990s John began using various metals
as his artistic medium. Today the company offers artistic lighting and ironwork
for
clients with discriminating
taste. Each piece is hand-crafted and
reflects the highest standards. Many designs are limited editions or one-of-a-kind. Custom designs are the
company's specialty.
Firefly Lighting, is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico - the land of enchantment. Product designs are inspired by the artistic
traditions of the Southwest, as well as contemporary, medieval, and old world
designs. We offer our clients UL Listed lighting products
and exquisite ironwork. Our customers are architects, interior designers, builders,
and home owners who seek
a superior architectural product to compliment museums, commercial/public
buildings, and distinctive homes world-wide. All of our products are made
in the USA with a sense of pride
and craftsmanship that is
rapidly becoming a lost art.
In addition, we
provide lighting consultation starting with the initial conceptual design to the finished product. This process allows our
clients
to participate in the design for
the lighting products, fireplace screens/tools, gates, and stair railings.
Our lighting compliments the unique
architectural requirements of the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Museum of New Mexico,
Stony Brook University, Sonic International Headquarters, La Posada de Santa Fe,
Bishop's Lodge Resort, Albuquerque Transportation Center, Los Alamos
National Bank, Santa Ana Casino,
and Mohegan Casino stores, and lighting for distinctive homes around the
world.
